About Our New Inductee

Before you buy a product, it's generally common practice to be familiar with what it does, the branding, and other details. We feel that the same rule applies to our "New Inductees" we announce each week, so this section is titled "About Our New Inductee." The information in this section will provide you with a quick yet accurate glance of what the product or service is all about.

Image of Christopher Pop-In-Kin and his carry case. Christopher Pop-In-Kins is not just any elf and he is very special! He is an adorable elf that upholds the classic hide-and-seek elf tradition created in 1984 by Flora Johnson of Atwater, Ohio. "Inspired by a tradition, Flora Johnson introduced Christopher as a character in a book with her own children during the early 1960s, this adorable elf 'pops in' from late November to Christmas Eve to visit children and share in the excitement of the holiday season."

In his story "Christopher Pop-In-Kins Pops In", Christopher is a little elf who dreams of visiting children during the holiday season. Santa was fully aware of Christopher's desire and decided to fulfill his dream...with a few conditions.

  1. Christopher may only pop in to homes from late November to Christmas Eve.
  2. Christopher must return to the North Pole on Christmas Eve with a report on his recent visit.
  3. Christopher may play hide-and-seek but may only move to new hiding places when children are asleep or busy doing other things.
  4. Most important of all, children cannot touch Christopher. If this occurs, Christopher must pop back to the North Pole to have his magic restored.
Christopher agreed to Santa's conditions wholeheartedly. After all, how many elves get an opportunity like this? Christopher Pop-In-Pop-Kins has since become a tradition every year with children eager to see Christopher or Christina Marie Pop-In-Kins almost as much as Santa!

While it's great for some people who just want a cursory glance at what a New Inductee is all about, there are many others who have a greater appetite for more information. This section is titled "Additional Details & Perspectives". and will provide you with additional details and perspectives associated with the product or service being featured here.

There are companies who that produce what I would refer to wannabe elves, then there are those that clearly define and uphold the tradition of what an elf looks like. After all this is a traditional character that is recognized in almost every culture across the globe.

Christopher came into being thanks to a woman named Flora Johnson in 1984. through a story titled, "Christopher Pop-In-Kins Pops In."  Never did anyone imagine that a toy and book could have such a legacy attached to them. It is that same legacy that has made Christopher Pop-In-Kins so popular around the world.

Christopher Pop-in-Kins continues to be a part of a centuries old tradition, helping to maintain the magic and excitement for many children and families alike each Christmas Season along with his sister. Christopher Pop-In-Kins keeps the conditions Santa's set like they were engraved in stone. He's right there as a mother reads his book to her children. Sometimes by candlelight on a cold night, or in the middle of a day. No matter what the time of day or weather condition, Christopher remains vigilant in bringing smiles and excitement to the lives of families.

One of the best features of Christopher Pop-In-Kins is that he is a posable character and has a nifty case which holds the storybook itself. Together they create a very small footprint whether on a retail store shelf or at home.

The storybook alone is a superior combination of beautifully detailed full color pages, contrasted by an adjoining page with highly detailed line-art illustrations and unparalleled background designs. This combination creates an eye catching display of color, art, storyline, along with a posable plush character that gives kids and Moms that warm and fuzzy feeling.

"Christopher holds an uncommon group of characteristics that define a distinctive quality about him. Three of these characteristics are the attributes that are responsible for this. The creative detail, quality of the textiles used, and affectation of emotion from his facial features.  Together these characteristics demarcate who Christopher is and set him apart from many other products of similar class."

"For Christopher, he the quintessence of a contradiction.  While the trend of design is design is focused on development of a product which will create a bond with a child to hold and interact with, Christopher is the complete opposite. In completion of my evaluation of Christopher, I visited a few retail and online stores looking for Christmas oriented products; more specifically, 'elves'.  I found that there we no real products which seemed to have the same appeal and sense of value that the Pop-In-Kins deliver.

Consumer Hands-On Evaluation

Nothing is more powerful than hands-on experience by a consumer with a product when it is under evaluation. Based upon that fact we put a number of products we currently are slated to evaluate at the mercy of consumers in a hands-on evaluation where anything goes. The information to follow will explore the responses from the participants in our spontaneous hands-on consumer evaluation of the products available for their review.

Christopher was provided to consumers at the Anaheim Hilton™ and Disneyland™ along with a variety of other products. At the Hilton it was at random intervals, while at Disneyland it was a process of product giveaways in both theme parks.

This was a rather unusual hands-on evaluation for Christopher, after all, he is under strict orders by Santa to play hide and seek. When the kids he is visiting aren't looking, he can sneak to a new place for them to try and find him, yet kids are not supposed to touch him!

Although Christopher isn't supposed to be touched, Santa made an exception to the rule for our evaluation process so more families could learn about Christopher Pop-In-Kins and the wonderful tradition associated with him. Only a limited number of people were able to actually hold him for a picture. That really added to the excitement for our consumer hands-on evaluation participants.

Women found Santa's "no-touch" rule delightful yet frustrating due to the fact that their first impulse was to hold him. Hearing the phrase "He's just the right size. You just want to cuddle with him." was a common event. Obviously that would break Santa's rules if they were to do so unless they were one of the "Santa Approved" photo-op selectees.

Every child who was looking at the Pop-In-Kins was absolutely fascinated. As the participants began to read his storybook, a sudden look of surprise came from many of the kids as well as the adults participating. Absolutely delightful!

In reading our feedback forms and watching our videos from the consumer evaluation, it was clear to see that to many of the participants, Christopher Pop-In-Kins was quite a success in this segment of our evaluation. We were even blessed to have a few retail stores and specialty shop owners/managers share with us how they see the Pop-In-Kins as a must-have product. Christopher Pop-In-Kins passed this segment of our evaluation with the highest of recommendation to retailers, distributors, and consumers at large.

Christopher Pop-In-Kins took this evaluation category on without the slightest risk.

The storybook alone is a superior combination of beautifully detailed full color pages, contrasted by an adjoining page with highly detailed line-art illustrations and unparalleled background designs. It is a combination of eye catching color, art and storyline that captivates the attention of a child.

Christopher Pop-In-Kins' storybook encourages a child to read while contributing highly to their critical skills development. Although the content is almost the best you could ever imagines, it still fell short of a perfect score by just half a point. Christopher Pop-In-Kins pulled a score of [4.5] Stars] in this category for Content Quality.

When it comes to the level of Creative playQuotient with Christopher Pop-In-Kins, she was a cinch. It was quite impressive to see a product that has such a symbiotic relationship of education and creative self-Play in the same product. Christopher Pop-In-Kins made it through our evaluation with the highest level of value and importance in this evaluation category. She emerged from the challenge presented in this category with a perfect score of [5] Five Stars].
